The goal of our visualization is to show how students move about campus for classes, both in theory and in practice.
In theory, we look at the suggested course sequences proposed by departments for their B.A. or B.S. students and correlate this course data with the courses' locations and times found at courses.illinois.edu.
In practice, we look at a variety of different students' actual schedules and paths about campus and try to infer any deviations that they may take from the suggested sequences. Perhaps they are doing a minor, or they don't go to class, or they decide to take things slow.
